Birmingham, Alabama. At the Birmingham Crossplex
Luca Wright (8 and under Division) and Jason Coulthart (17-18 high division) will be participating in the indoor season opener here in Birmingham, AL. The weeks leading up to this meet Wright and Coulthart both trained specifically for this opener meet.
This is Wrights first meet, more importantly his first indoor competition. Wright will be running in the short sprints, 60m Sprint, 200m Sprints and a 400m long sprint. Wright ran an opening season time of 11.42. He placed fourth in his heat for his first ever 60m sprint. Later in the day, Wright ran against Georgia and Alabama athletes in the open 400 meter 8 and under. He was excited and well prepared for his first competitor. Wright show aggressive competitiveness during his run and will compete in January on the outdoor circuit in his events.
Coulthart is stoked about his debut on the indoor
circuit. He has shown interest in the 200m sprint in hopes to find a new love. He has trained with the adult squad since day one and prepared with the Falcons in regards to the event and will be on his mark at the start. Coulthart ran a decent first ever 200 meter sprint. He held his stagger until the end of the race. Which is more than good for Coulthart who predominantly ran distance for majority of his athletics career.
On the outdoor circuit Coulthart will compete in the Pole Vault and 200 m. Coulthart will also explore short sprints.
Follow the progress of the falcons over the next few months of competition.
