Coach Shae with athletes Luca and Sameera. 11/07/19.
What a grand week we have had thus far. The Falcon Nest has received some new Falcons preparing for flight. Amongst our new athletes in our youth age divisions 3-18, we have Sameera Abdullah, Luca Sumner, and a few others. Looks like our youth division will have a great and exciting competition season.
The Falcon have received a few new adult athletes as well. Athletes like Kim Phillips who will be running as a sprinter in our masters age division. And even Jason who is a younger athlete and a college student at HTC who loves the sport and plans on competing to keep his love alive!
The returning Falcons are excited and are setting goals now for the indoor competition season. Athletes like Isabella Alicea, who in 2017 he had to stop running to recover from an injury. Now Alicea has returned to reclaim her crown in her division for the 100 m and 200 m sprints.
And to put the cherry on top, a couple new coaches for our staff have arrived. To assist Coach Q Mack, Coach Ashanetta Harris has arrived from Indiana. She used to coach with The Cheetahs Youth Running Club. She’s a sprint coach in the athlete herself she is destined to shine her light here in Florida. They will coach the adult squad and 13 and up.
Coach Shantae will be assisted by Coach Sarah Tully and Occasionally by Assistant Coach Markeith, who has retired from the military recently to indulge in his passion for track and field. The organization is growing in his own pace and is making a impact on this community.
What a season we have ahead of us! It is time for the Falcons to begin training as others make their way back to the training field. Our first competition is December 21 in Birmingham Alabama At the Birmingham crossplex. It is an indoor facility where we will compete against other teams and clubs in the area and along the south east of the United States.
With our indoor championships coming up in March 2020 in Two separate places, all adults will compete in Baton Rouge, Louisiana and our youth to compete in Staten Island, New York. It is destined to be a great year again with new marks and times. Follow our Falcon News page for more details!
